Felsefede Hayvan Sorusu Sempozyumu 7-8 Kasım 2014 tarihinde İstanbul’da Anadolu Medeniyetleri Araştırma Merkezi’nde gerçekleşecek.

Felsefede hayvan sorusuna yoğunlaşan bu sempozyum farklı ilgi ve uzmanlık alanlarına sahip lisansüstü öğrecilerinin ve akademisyenlerin biraraya gelerek çeşitli filozofların insan ve hayvan arasında yaptığı ayrımları ve bu ayrımların etik ve siyasal sonuçlarını tartışacağı bir platform oluşturmayı amaçlıyor.  Sempozyumda Cuma oturumlarında ve Zeynep Direk ile David Wood’un birer konuşma yapacağı özel oturumlarda sunum dili İngilizce olacak. Cogito’nun desteklediği bu etkinlik ilgili herkesin katılımına açıktır.

Symposium on the Animal Question in Philosophy will take place on November 7-8, 2014 at the Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations in İstanbul.

Focusing on the animal question in philosophy, this symposium aims to bring together graduate students and scholars with different fields of specialization to discuss the boundaries drawn between human beings and nonhuman animals in the thoughts of various philosophers as well as the ethical and political implications of this distinction. Friday sessions and keynote sessions will be held in English. The event is sponsored by the Turkish journal cogito and is open to public.
